Pan Thai is a good neighborhood Thai restaurant. They serve an array of dishes, including the ubiquitous Pad Thai. Their lunch specials are a good deal. The decor is not extraordinary, and sometimes the service is a bit slow. But the food is consistently good. You do get a good view of the street during the summer since the windows open up to create nice atmosphere. Check out the student discount menu for extra savings.

It's your standard Uno's - can't beat the quick lunch (four different lunch specials!) and you can order on-line and just pop in to pick it up! The food is decently priced and generally tasty, and a good place to bring a bigger group--just call for reservations. They also have a larger function room for big parties. There's an outdoor patio that's one of the only spots in the area to peoplewatch and have a drink off of Newbury Street--and their drinks are surprisingly good! If you're on a sports team or in a student group looking for a way to make money, you can contact Uno's about a fundraiser evening: if you can bring in enough people to eat at Uno's and bring in a pre-made flyer with your gorup's name, you get 20% of the proceeds from those people's bills.

Boston House of Pizza, or more affectionately "BHOP" to area students, caters mainly to Northeastern and Colleges of the Fenway. One of the area's many sub and pizza places, BHOP offers basic, simple, plain pizza for the college crowd. Spicy curly fries are among their best offerings, as are chicken fingers. More seating here than at Cappy's or Cappy's II, and conveniently located Husky Card and Fenway Cash are both accepted here. Free Delivery. Online ordering.

The Columbus Cafe and Bar is open for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner, and is appropriatly located on Columbus Ave. They have seating available at the bar, in the dining room, and when weather permits, on the patio. The menu here is very broad and covers many types of cusine and ethnicities. Whether you like hanging out at the bar on a friday night, bringing a date to the dining room, and relaxing for Sunday morning brunch, this place has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Jae's downtown continues to serve an awe-inspiring and overwhelming variety of pan-Asian foods, from curry dishes to grilled fish to pad Thai to Bim Bab (Jae's not-so-special specialty: rice with vegetables and beef in a Korean hot stone pot), and tops that all with one of Boston's most fresh, creative, and satisfying sushi bar. You could eat here every night of the week and have a different dining experience. Jae's menu includes amusing “designer tidbits” to help you create your own sushi combinations; the one titled “for party animals” fits the overall atmosphere of loud twenty-somethings steeped in hipstertude. Near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Newbury Street Pizza Pie-er is a small establishment with an interesting menu. They've expanded the traditional pizza to have an array of crusts (4), sauces (10), and toppings (34). The crusts and sauces are the largest differentiators that you don't see at other establishments, and it's refreshing to see a focus on healthier fare as well (this includes items such as whole wheat or multigrain crusts). Plenty of veggie and meat options to please anyone in your crowd, The staff is friendly, the tabletops resemble pizzas with lots of toppings, and the ambience is much more pleasant than you would assume from the location and the facade. When the other pizza options nearby can be greasy and college-infested, Pizza Pie-er makes for a cleaner, tastier option. Or dozens of options! Good for a quick bite on your way to the Berklee Performance Center, shopping on Newbury Street, or on your way down to the The Esplanade Extra perk? Not just a lunch or dinner sit-down spot.
